Kaleem’s Resume
In elementary school, it seemed that Kaleem was attracted to two things: Computers and video cameras. Whether it was either in front or behind, he could always be found tinkering with them in some way. Early on, he enjoyed filming people, places and things and it was no surprise since he would sit in front of the TV a lot during his childhood often watching things from popular game shows, education, news and other shows. Sooner or later, Kaleem started asking a lot of questions about the content on TV, some questions even his parents couldn’t answer. At least not until he was old enough. In the late 90’s, while playing around with video games, computers and television, Kaleem would try his hand at using the World Wide Web which combined elements from all three of these media devices. This, along with his interest in programming would soon bloom into something more as he would take on some major media projects while in school. As he entered the new millennium, he played around with new ideas and would begin dabbling with video editing and web pages.
Already irate about some of his favorite shows were going off the air, Kaleem decided to take things into his own hands and started K-Max Media Entertainment, his own new media company and began his life long search for “fresh entertainment” becoming an “Entertainment Chef”.This search, lead to places where he tasted different and unusual events to cover such as experimental music and films, physique sports and Japanese Animation. From there, Kaleem Maxwell would produce show coverage shown here on kmaxmedia.com that focussed on stories ranging from Japanese Anime, bodybuilding, film and community news. Kaleem would also be involved with local media production during his stay in Windsor, Ontario working for the University of Windsor Centre for Flexible Learning performing various roles including editing and assistance in production and direction. He would graduate in 2005 with an Honor’s Degree in Computers and Multimedia from the University of Windsor.
In 2005, Kaleem found success with the production of Canadian physique and bodybuilding sport coverage on the web. With this success, Kaleem begin a dedicated bodybuilding partnership “Northern Physique” with local video company New Visions Video, and would be later joined by fitness organization Bodytone focussing on the proliferation of physique sports in Canada. He would serve a two year stint as partner, Editor-In-Chief and Web Producer. Kaleem oversaw news and content production, and website architecture and design. He would often be found backstage or on the net interviewing and networking with athletes of all levels and professionals in the Bodybuilding industry; such as Shawn Ray, Laura Binetti, Autumn Raby, Laura Creavalle, Mark Smishek, Nancy DiNino and Paul Dillett.
Kaleem recently graduated from the the Advanced Web Development for E-Business graduate program at Humber College and recently finished a short digital media internship stint at CTV. Kaleem loves to read, write, surf the web, watch animations of all kinds and if he ever gets a chance, play some sports. He is also an avid enthusiast of Female Bodybuilding. What? Why Female Bodybuilding you’re wondering? What’s so interesting about that? You should contact him and ask. He’d like to hear your thoughts.
